Main Body
The body in the persuasive text is the most important part of the text, it is where all the facts are and the main spot you persuade the reader onto your side. So here is how to write the main body of the text.
- At the start of each paragraph include a topic sentence, that clearly states one reason why the reader should agree with your claim
e.g. Smoking is terrible, it kills and injures many, it should be stopped.
- After the topic sentence the paragraph should include supporting evidence that elaborates on from the topic sentence
- Have at least 2 arguments
- Each body paragraph should focus on one piece of evidence
- Within each paragraph, provide sufficient supporting detail
- Be sure your evidence is specific
- Each argument should be argued in a separate paragraph
- Be sure to include references and quotes
e.g. according to quit-smoking.com 1/3 of the adult global population smokes
